LIL’ WAYNE – “Georgia…Bush”

LISTEN ONLINE HERE.

[spoken intro] This song right here is dedicated to the President of the United States of America. Y’all might know him as George Bush, but where I’m from? The lost city of New Orleans? We call him this…

[Ray Charles sample starts: “Georgia…”]

Bush! Let’s go…

Now… this song is dedicated to the one with the suit
thick white skin and his eyes bright blue
so-called beef with you know who
fuckit he just let ’em kill all our troops
lookit all the bullshit we been through
had a nigga sittin on top of them roofs
Hurricane Katrina we shoulda called it Hurricane Georgia…Bush!

Then they telling y’all lies on the news
the white people smiling like everything cool
but I know people that died in that pool
I know people that died in them schools
now only to survive what to do
got no trailer you got to move
now it’s on to Texas and to Georgia…

They tell you what they want to show you
what they want you to see
but they don’t let you know what’s really going on
make it look like a lotta stealing going on
boy them cops is killers in my home
niggas shot dead in the middle of the street
I ain’t no thief I’m just trying to eat
man, fuck the police and President Georgia…Bush!

So what happened to the levees?
Why wasn’t they steady?
Why wasn’t they able to control this?
I know some folks who live by the levee
they keep on telling me said they heard explosions
same shit happened back in Hurricane Betsy in 1965
I ain’t too young to know this
that was President Johnson
but this is President Georgia…Bush!

[chorus]
We from a town where everybody drowned
Everybody died but baby I’m still praying wit’ cha!
Everybody cried but ain’t nobody tried
there’s no doubt on my mind it was…Bush!
[repeat]

I was born in a boot at the bottom of the map
New Orleans baby
now the White House hating
trying to wash us away like we not on the map
wait have you heard the latest
they saying you gotta have paper if you tryin’ to come back
niggas thinking it’s a rap scene
we can’t hustle and they drop
we ain’t from Georgia…

It’s them dead bodies
the lost houses
the mayor says don’t worry bout it
and the children have been scorned
no one’s here to care bout them
fat shout to all the rappers that helped out
yeah we lucky they called on y’all
but fuck President…Bush!

When you see them Confederate flags
you know what it is
a white cracker muthafucka that probably voted for him
now he ain’t gonna drop no dollars
but he do drop bombs
R.I.P. to they that died in the storm
but fuck President…Bush!

See us in the city man
give us a pound
if a nigga still moving then he holding it down
I had two Jags but lost both them bitches
I’m from the N.O….the N.O….

[chorus]
We from a town where everybody drowned
Everybody died but baby I’m still praying wit’ cha!
Everybody cryin’ but ain’t nobody tryin’
there’s no doubt on my mind it was…Bush!
Bush!

  1. I like this song, great track
Racism but I understand it…now being a minority I wont say “F white people”
But to be honest, its how I feel…look at the recent survey conducted…amerikkka is racist as ever

  2. once again lil wayne proves he’s the best rapper alive……….cuz rap aren’t just talking about drug, sex and money but also about life reality and that’s what lil wayne do…….keep you head up i’m your first fan in the world …..holla

  3. once again lil wayne is showin all these lazy ass rappers to step they game up to me lil wayne is the best rapper since 2pac no question about it I dont kno why people say jay z can fuck wit lil wayne, lil wayne has passed jay z by a long shot

  4. I hear whoever said that Jay z stuff out because aint no body in the muthafuckin game fuckin wit lil wayne everysong that I hear if its on his beat or someone else’s beat he murders the shit straight rips it he the hardest muthafuckin rapper alive he right there at tupac if he aint yet this song is so muthafucking tight I never knew that a song about bush would be so gutta

  5. Lil wayne is the best rapper alive period. Its his ocean them niggas is tuna. I hope bush can here this so maybe it can open his eyes

  6. maan i really like dis song…i think lil wayne had a good message in dis song. And he is right George Bush wont drop dollors but he will drop bombs

  7. I am a Bush supporter but I salute Weezy for putting this out. The truth is none of these politicians give a damn about young blacks- not Bush, not Bill Clinton, not Hillary Clinton, NONE. With that being said, Katrina hit unexpectedly and we were unprepared for it as a nation. The N.O. mayor deserves as much blame as anyone on the federal or state level. I think if another tragedy strikes, it will be handled much better. Weezy keep doing what u doing- you’re one of the top 3 still in the game. I’m not ready to put him ahead of Nas or Jay, but he may be the #1 rapper outside of NY. Peace

  8. F0 REAL D0E LiL WAYNE KiLLiN EM’ NAW SAYiN 0N DA REAL D0E MAN HE DiS iS JUST H0W i FEEL i L0VE DA S0NG iT iS BANGiN AND S0 REAL MAN KEEP D0iN Y0 THiNG LiL WAYNE U MY NiGGA!…1

  9. That song ain’t nothin but the truth. It showed more than the fact that Wayne is the “best rappa alive!” Shit he expalined that he loves this shit that he does…just listen to the whole CD!! But the real point is that this whole song is real. Bush don’t give a damn about us. I had to sit there with my friends from the N.O. who couldn’t find they momma, daddy, grandma, ect. And then come to find out they ended up loosing everything. They couldn’t go back home on holidays and be with their family. The N.O. will never be the same. The whole TRUE New Orleans is broken. And Bush don’t care in the end.

  10. Track is hot… and as far as race go… i live in a very mixed neighborhood and really not one of tha best places… and as much as people still tryin 2 get over that tha minorities do have it harder and people do need to realize it… i think people should try to stop it but it takes both sides…

He is the best now and for yall pussy ass niggas that say he aint made no albums dumbasses he made platinum albums and knows people love mixtapes such as Dedication, Dedication 2, Lights Out, Waynes World pt1,2,3 & Prefix and Suffix. To leave you niggaz wit a quote from wayne off of Suffix song is Im a Menace. “Try Wayne if u think u can fly cuz ill put wings on em and shoot em out da sky”

  15. I just want to post a response to the first person who left a comment… i am white, i despise president bush, and i am ashamed of the white people who give the rest of us bad names. because im definitely not racist and im STRONGLY against any kind of racism from any race. racism shouldnt even be a factor in the united states. people are people, let them be! dont look at color… and i love this song!

  16. Weezy…my brother you are spitin the truth…now that we know the truth about what’s going on in America…This is my question…what the hell are we going to do about it?…it’s time for action my people…

I truly salute weezy for not only having the courage to discuss political issues in his this song but also for letting amerikkka know that the rappers of the black culture aren’t just rappin about sex, money, and drugs, but also about whats going on in amerikkka. wezzy you’ve always been at the top of my chart, but this song has truly put you #1.

  22. well I do like this song, I agree with it, I understand that racism is wrong and no one should be flaunting a confederate flag, but i do not appreciate the word “cracker” just like you dont appreciate the “N” word. Both words should not be said.

  23. Lil Wayne speakin his mind is all, dat aint a crime, but 4 all yall white ppl out there, he aint directly dissin yall, he jus dissin dat white cracker George Bush, mutha fucka doesnt even know how to do math, how the hell is he suppose to run a dam country, anywayz the song is real good, i aint from the N.O. but al yall from da N.O. keep ya head, Gods with ya, and so r we.

    Durty Soth Texas

  24. I am creole and from the 9th ward in New Orleans and I love this song. To start off my Dad missed my 18th birthday to fight in Iraq in 2004 so I didn’t like Bush from the jump. My great- great aunt is 86 and had to sit on her roof for 4 days with nothing she almost didn’t make it. After seeing the city on the news my grandma told us to not bother with trying to fight her cancer she just gave up cause her city was gone, she died in April. I don’t think Bush knows the true impact of devestation that went on last year. He does not need to be running a country he should resign before he ruins even more lives if that is even possible.

  25. I feel this song, I am from the 9th ward in New Orleans. To start off my Dad left for Iraq the day before my 18th birthday. Then last year my great-great aunt was stuck on her roof for 4 days. After my grandma watched her city drown, she told us she was not going to fight her cancer anymore and she just gave up, in April she died. What happened last year runs deeper than Bush will ever know. Everyone in my family lost everything we had, we even had to get a picture off the internet for my grandma’s obituary. The government had 41 years to build up to code levees and several days to get everybody out. So from the bottom of my heart FUCK GEORGE W. BUSH!!!

  26. This song is tight, reppin for the sickest rapper out there who is spittin some of the hottest shit alive and reppen the truth.. my nigga Immortal Technique… reppin the truth sickest most wicked MC alive on the underground side.. the truth gots to be told
