A Poem from Janine Pommy Vega

I lower my bones in you
Adriatic Sea
through the porthole
lapping on my ceiling
all night long

I surrender my joints and knuckles
the watery lining of my lungs
the passageways of breath
and brain wave
rock me

Mother of the apron pocket
crook of the arm
susurrous lullaby O
rock me in your cradle
all night long
