Spike Lee asked me for permission to use my Defend Brooklyn as a part of his film “Inside Man”. Spike envisioned a crew of hipsters with AK’s robbing a bank to expose a nazi atrocity, like a mission that Defend Brooklyn might undertake if they had the money and the training. The icing on the cake was when Spike cast three alpha hipsters from my New York mileu to play the parts of the rebels.
