An extended piece I wrote on Fela Kuti was selected for the Da Capo Best Music Writing 2000 anthology. In 2006, I was somehow listed in the Music section of Los Angeles Magazine's annual "Power" issue. In 2007-8, I produced a blog called "Nature Trumps," about the L.A. River. From 2010 to 2021, I lived in rural wilderness in Joshua Tree, Ca.

  5. D. Boon is one of the best guitarist that ever lived and the best punk guitarist/songwriter/vocalist of all time. Minutemen changed my musical life. “This Ain’t No Picnic” is the perfect punk song.

  6. Happy Birthday Dennis…..listened to you and the others many times as a kid hangin out in your bedroom w/ my friend…your younger bro Joe….who coincedently I got to meet up with again on your birthday for the first time in like 30 years….a great reunion.
