Better get out the elbow pads for some record geek jostling this Sunday at the third installment of the Brooklyn Record Riot.  Over 40 dealers will be selling more vinyl than you could ever possibly afford.  But that’s no reason not to go look.

Comfort your post-Valentines-Day depression with beer and Keilbasa from the Warsaw, multiple DJs, and the knowledge that you probably aren’t the only one there who didn’t get laid last night..

And if you really want to get the best gems, 20 bucks will get you early entry at 10am.

The Secret Science Club is hosting neurobiologist and scuba diver, Vincent Pieribone, at the Bell House in Gowanus. He’ll talk about incandescent occurrences in nature and particularly in marine life.  It’s real free and starts at 7, but if you get there before they have delightful Happy Hour deals (2fr1 I do believe).  Bill Nye will probably be there.

If you haven’t checked out the musical underworld that is Paris London West Nile (otherwise known as West Nile), a donation-based experimental venue just on the other side of Glasslands, you should. It’s unlike anything else going on around town, and it’s free (free!), though it’s best to throw a couple bucks in the hat when it’s passed around if you can afford it.

Free bluegrass and $.25 bourbon.  Note the decimal point.  From 9-11p.m. in “south” Park Slope at Ellis Bar with the quality pluckin’ of Two Lost Turkeys.  A nice cozy place to hear some good fiddlin’ and get some wallet relief/liver abuse.

This spot is also doing free Brooklyn pints Sunday January 18 from 3-4p.m. if you need to take the edge off your bloody mary brunch.
